Yesterday was Bridger’s 1st field day. I honestly was waiting for a text, call, email or something informing us that it would be reschedule. We woke up to snow. It was freezing. It was terrible weather for a field day. But when I didn’t hear anything I just assumed it was on… and sure enough IT WAS!!!
I bundled up all the kids {Addisyn, Cooper, Hendrix, and Bennett} and headed over to the school. The first event was the Softball Throw.

He ended up taking 1st place in this event.
After standing there freezing, waiting for his turn, wresting kids to stay close, listening to them fuss and cry about how cold it was, whipping snotty noses and wiping it on the bottom of my pants, I pulled the car around, and parked right next to the field. Turned on a movie, and let the kids sit in the car. It was FREEZING!!! Not fun at all. But, I was so excited to be there… laughing!!!
The next event was the Baton Relay…

He ended up taking a 1st place ribbon in this event.
Next they did the 50 yard dash…

He came home with a 2nd place ribbon in this event.
Then it was time for the Potato Sack Races. These are my favorite….
Getting Ready to HOP

Right when the race was starting for the boys…
it started to HAIL!!! It hurt when it hit you…

Bridger stumbled and fell half way down the field. The competitive person in him knew that he had some ground to make up. I laughed so hard when he was almost to the finish line, and he literally jumped and launched himself around 4-5ft landing on his stomach over the finish line to find himself in the 3rd place position! It was so funny!!!
Then we went inside for our last event, the Standing Broad Jump

Sometimes the athleticism in this kids just astonishes me. He was jumping just shy of 6 feet, but he wouldn’t land his jump. So in this event he ended up with a 4th place ribbon!

5 events and 5 ribbons… Pretty great! Way to give it your all Boog.
I am so happy that I get to be involved with my kids. It really does make me happy. I love watching them outside of the home environment. I love having his friend come up to me and say “You’re Bridger’s Mom.” I just love it. It makes me happy… even if it was incredibly cold, and maybe just a little irritating, and challenging with 4 kids!!!
But, you do what you have to do, and most of the time I LOVE EVERY MINUET OF IT!!!
