{Summer Fun}

One of the exciting things to do during the summer is to jump on the trampoline with the sprinklers on! I LOVED that growing up, and my kids are loving it as well. I need to get a different sprinkler that shoots up a little higher, but Bridge & Addi were happy with it!

Little Coop decided that he was VERY tired and fell to sleep in his swing! So darling…isn’t it???

It is so nice that we are having some warmer weather! I feel so bad for Bridge that he can’t do all the fun summer stuff. We are hoping that the swelling is down enough tomorrow that he can get his hard cast! Then I won’t have to be so cautions. The first thing he said Sunday morning (the day after he broke it) was “I can’t do anything mom…” just breaks my heart! I am sure it won’t slow him down for long though!

Another trip to the ER

Last night before heading home we decided that we would run down to IF and see Grandpa and Grandma. We were all outside talking and running around. The kids were having a race to the rocks and the trees and anyone that knows Bridger knows that he just doesn’t like to loose. Jas had held Bridge back to get Addi a head start and so Bridger was really trying himself to his limits and he tripped and fell. Poor guy fell just right. When Jason went over to check on him the first thing he said is “I broke my arm!” Bridge has always been one tough cookie, so when he was crying and acting like he was we just new something was wrong with him. After looking him over and talking to him for a few minuets we decided that we better take him in. So we were of to EIRMC, but before we left Grandpa hooked him up with this cute pink sling-we really new he was hurting when pink didn’t seem to bug him at that point.

Bridger ER, 061

He was really trying to be brave, and strong. I felt so bad for him. He wouldn’t make eye contact with anyone, and really was trying hard not to cry!

Bridger ER, 067

We told Bridge that they were going to take some cool pictures of his arm, and all he really said was “Then we can go home.”

Bridger ER, 071

When they would turn his arm up, or try and straighten it at all, it would really really hurt him. He was trying so hard to be tough. I had to keep telling him it was okay to show us when it hurt.

Bridger ER, 069

They decided that they would put a soft cast on it for now until the orthopedic specialist could look at it during the first part of the week.

Bridger ER, 075

Bridger ER, 077

After getting all wrapped up, they brought him this little kids sling. I wasn’t watching Bridge when they pulled it out of the box, but Jas was and he started just a laughing. I guess when she pulled this sling out that had teddy bears and balloons on it Bridge rolled his eyes and pulled a face that would have made anyone laugh. We have to take him into the orthopedic doctor this week to get him in a real cast. There was fluid in the joint so they didn’t do it last night (at least that is what I gathered from the doctor). Bridge is hoping for a camo cast, but we will just have to see! What happens. It broke right under the elbow.

Bridger ER, 078

HE WAS SO BRAVE and TOUGH and STRONG and COURAGEOUS…we love this little guy! I can’t believe that every evil coneveil (sp) thing he does, he brakes his arm racing Addi on foot on the grass!

Remedy and a new Favorite

Poor little Coop has been constipated for 4 days. Not very fun for the little guy. BUT I was talking to a friend the other day and she told me something I had never heard! Mix Karo Syrup in WARM (it has to be warm) water and let them drink it. (She has even tried this on her 4 year old and it worked. They love it cause it is sweet, so it isn’t a terrible fight. SURE ENOUGH…I gave him 3oz of the mixture last night, and this morning…wahlaaaa a messy diaper! YEAH

I know that is not the most pleasant post, BUT I am sure moms that haven’t heard that before will appreciate it.

THEN-I have discovered a NEW FAVORITE. You will just have to trust me on this one, I THINK YOU WILL LOVE IT TOO! Freeze some grapes. It will take a good day for them to completely freeze. When ready to eat them cover them in a few tbsp of cream and DEVOUR! It is so wonderful and just scrumptious! It is my new favorite treat.

What a WEEKEND

This last weekend we had 2 family reunions…yes 2 in one weekend! And, we made it to both of them!!!

The first was the Park Reunion. Every year the Park family has a get together. We usually end up going camping and doing something to enjoy the outdoors. This year we did something just a little different and went to Downy to Downata Hot Springs. IT WAS A BLAST!!! We had lots of room to run and play. We weren’t in your traditional camp spot there, we had an acre (THANKS GARY) to roam and play…and we did just that! Ryker roamed all over the place, he is such a funny little guy. We played volleyball, catch, soccer, and had races, we even celebrated Rykers 2nd Birthday! It was a weekend full of great conversation and LOTS and LOTS OF FUN!!!

There was a HUGE tube water slide. The kids were SO SO SO excited to go down it. Jas, Bridge and Addi head up the flights of stairs. Addi is sitting in the waterslide just waiting to go down when the lifeguard informs us that “She is just to short.” OH WAS SHE MAD! Jason and her had to walk back down the flights of stairs. She was pouting BIG TIME! She really really wanted to go down. You would think they would have a sing at the BOTTOM of the slide informing us of the height limit. She was pouting BIG TIME! She really really wanted to go down.

BUT, everyone else that got to go down had a FANTASTIC TIME!!!

We had a WONDERFUL TIME!!! It is always fun to get together with the people we love the most and LAUGH!
THANKS FOR A GREAT REUNION!!!

We had to call it quits around 2:30 on Saturday and head back to Rexburg to the Jeppsen Farm for my family reunion. By the time we got there we missed most of my family, but I got to see the Lisa, Dave, Courtney and Tiff, Lori and all the kids but Cody (he had ball games) and I even got to me Larissa! Glenda and her boys and Gena were there, as well as Gary and Niki!!!! I forgot to grab my camera (Court-please send me the few that you have). We had some great conversation, and it was wonderful to see everyone. It has been way to long!

Then it was home again. We got a call from our realtor on our way down to Downata. So, we got home saturday night around midnight. Got some sleep and it was up early for me to scrub scrub scrub!!!

It was a LONG but WONDERFUL weekend! I have great families and am very blessed to have them all! THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING IT SPECIAL!

“To BAD…”

Bridger mowhaw 019

Bridger loves his cousins…he likes what they like, and wants what they want. Carter has had a few Mohawks in his day, and recently Aunt Holly gave Teegan one. SO…..Bridger decided that he wanted one. After some convincing on his part I told him he could have it for a day. He just loves it! I am not really sure why, but he thinks it is just cool.  I will admit that it is kinda sorda cute on him. After it was done, I sent a picture to dad asking if he could keep it, and Jas said “No” Bridger replied by saying…

“TO BAD”

When we went into Broulims today a lady said “Cool do Dude” with a grin from ear to ear he said “See mom, its cool.”

I think it will come off in the morning, but I think it is the first of a few little mowhawks.

True Beauty

There is a newer show on Monday nights which I just love. It is called “True Beauty.” This is the 2nd season (I think), and I really enjoy watching it. It is a television series in which contestants are competing to see who is the most beautiful. However, they think they are only being tested on outer beauty. The show is hosted by three judges, who judge the contestants on their inner beauty. There are “missions” that are being taped, and they must pass them or they will be in the bottom two, with one going home and loosing their chance to win. This year they are competing to be the “Face of Vegas.” At the elimination they are told that beauty not only is on the outside but comes from within…and then they are shown the secret footage of the “mistakes” they made.

Monday night one of the challenges was doing some interview to the people on the Vegas strip. They were given an envelope with 5 questions, and were told NOT to look at them until they were in front of their camera crew. Each of them entered an elevator which of course had a hidden camera…WOULD YOU HAVE CHEATED-you are all alone, and no one is watching. It is just a silly little envelope with 5 questions on it???  Surprisingly, or not surprising at all-you decide, ALL OF THE GIRLS CHEATED, and NONE OF THE BOYS CHEATED on last nights mission. After the interviews were completed they sat in a secret room behind a focus group and had to see how they handled the criticism that the focus group was dishing out…and they were harsh. Saying things that anyone would have been very upset by.

The reason I like watching this so much, is because I WONDER HOW I WOULD BE. If I didn’t know cameras were watching me, and I thought I was all alone. I would like to think that I have great inner beauty, and integrity. I would like to think that I wouldn’t have opened that envelope and looked at the questions, despite my desire to be on top. I would like to think that I would accept peoples criticism as just a matter of their opinion…BUT WOULD I? WOULD YOU? How are we when we think no one is looking? I think we all need a reminder from time to time that there is always someone looking, and we need to be the best we can be all the time! Are you a True Beauty?

Coopers 1st…

HAIRCUT

At 6 months I decided that it was time to do something about Coopers little alfalfa sprout!  For any of you that know Bridge, I didn’t cut his hair until his first birthday, and his hair was hilarious! It stuck strait out and was so crazy. I had told my mom NOT to let me do that again to my little boy! So, on Friday she reminded me what I had said…on Friday night I trimmed it up!

Before…

After…

My mom trimmed it better on Saturday, and it looks like it is real thick now! What a cute little guy he is. I just love him to pieces.

Bubbles and Best Friends

My kids are getting board…because it is always raining, and because they don’t have anything “fun” to do. Bridger is the worse. Seriously he is always complaining about how board he is. SO, the other day I got some bubbles and was waiting for the “board” moaning to start so I could give them to them! What is it about bubbles that are SO MUCH FUN.

Isn’t that just the greatest picture? I LOVE it.

Bridger was excited to have something FUN to do.

The dogs were very inquisitive about the bubbles. Isn’t this picture so funny? Mallard loves to cuddle, and wants to be on top of everyone…you can tell Addi just wasn’t that impressed with her at that moment.

These are our 2 dogs. I am not sure that I have really blogged about them much, so I thought I would today! Rugar and Mallard are such good dogs. Jason and I got them about 9 years ago as puppies. Poor Mallard is starting to look SO OLD…and they are both slowing down. Before Bridge these 2 were our babies. We took them everywhere and played with them all the time. We still do when we have time, but it just isn’t the same. Ruger is an excellent Duck Dog, and Mallard is a gentle giant. I would put her in a room full of babies and never hesitate to leave her for a min. She is wonderful! They are BOTH such good dogs, and a part of our family!
