4 months

I know that I say it all the time… babies grow just WAY TO FAST!!! I can’t believe that Cooper is 4 months old. He had his check-up on Wednesday. He is growing great, and doing wonderful.

Weight: 12lbs 13oz

Height: 25 1/4 inches

Head: 16 1/2 inches

So he is in about the 50% for each category (a little above for his weight, a little low for his height, and right at 50 for his head).

I LOVE this picture. Look how small he looks!!! I am SO HAPPY with Dr. Hopkins. What a great man he is! I would highly suggest him to anyone who wants to feel a little extra TLC from a Doctor. Something I think is lost with a lot of them. He is just wonderful, and I am so glad that I found him.

A few things about COOPER at 4 months:

  • He decided that it was necessary to add a 2:00am feeding, but then sleeps until around 7:30.
  • He is starting to reach out and grab stuff. It is so cute! I love that I can occupy him with a toy for a little while during the day!
  • He loves to SMILE, and it is very contagious.
  • Mornings are his happy time.
  • He doesn’t nap well at all. Which in turn makes him get pretty fussy in the afternoon.
  • He is getting pretty spoiled! He loves to be held, and is for the most part pretty content if he is. (I know that this is my fault, but I have done it with all 3 of them…I am a sucker!)
  • HE LOVES HIS MAMMA!!! I love it so much. He gets all smiley when I come into the room and start talking to him. It makes me so happy!!! I love this little guy so much.
  • I will also say he LOVES his Daddy, and Brother and Sister!!!
  • He is getting ticklish. It is just the cutest thing. He is starting to giggle when he is tickled. So cute…
  • Jason says “He gets what he wants” that is oh so true!!! He is just well loved…not spoiled at all!!!!!!

Cooper, we love you so much! I am so happy to be your mom. You make my heart smile everyday. For the most part your a great little baby. You definitely like to cry and let your emotions be known though. But, I wouldn’t trade you for ANYTHING!!!

Back at it…

Bridger was VERY excited when I told him that he was well enough that he could get back at it. He has been going through “snow machine withdrawals.” After about 15min of riding Jason came in and told me that I had to “come see this…” So, I bundled up Coop and we went out to see what was so exciting. Poor little Addi has an ear infection with another fever, and didn’t want to go out.

Jas was excited and so proud of Bridge. He was so excited to be back on that sled that he was “jumping” it over the hills on the track that he has in the back yard. It was pretty cute. You could hear the little motor rev when he would come upon a “jump.”

007

Him and Teeg were having a pretty good time. I do think that Bridger scares Teeg sometimes when he is riding. BUT he still has a blast.

017

Look at those SMILES! Two very cute boys…

018Before Cooper and I went inside, I decided that he wanted to be a part of the FUN! So he went for his first snow machine ride…no, just kidding…we just took a cute picture of my boys!!!

033

Someday,I think these two will be VERY COMPETITIVE with each other. Hopefully it brings them together, and not apart! Who really knows what the future brings with them, but I do hope that regardless of the 4 year gap, that they will be best friends.

033

So lucky to have such cute little boys to spoil. It makes me happy that Bridge has such enthusiastic passion for stuff.  He is such a great kid!!!

Creative Solution

007

The other day BRIDGER was getting very irritated with COOPER (so was mom to be completely honest). He was just very tired and wouldn’t give up. So he cried and cried and cried…for about an hour! After about 15 minuets of Coop screaming, Bridge comes out of his bedroom and says “Mom, look at me.” Of course I started laughing. Then he says “You know why I have these in?…Cause of Cooper.”

I thought it was a pretty great solution, ESPECIALLY from a 4 year old!!!

Seriously Heartbreaking…

Yesterday I posted a picture of Cooper smiling…today I am posting the reality of last night! Poor little guy just doesn’t feel well at all. He coughs which leads to crying, which makes him cough harder…then he cries harder!

Seriously HEARTBREAKING…I hate it!

We caught it…

We have been SICK…we caught the crud that is going around, and I WANT IT TO GO AWAY!!!

First Bridger got it. It started with a runny nose, and turned into fevers of 102.5 and a terrible cough. Of course its just a virus, so there isn’t a lot that we can do. Ibuprofen for his fever, and Delsyn for his cough…Thankfully he is feeling better after the week of crud.

121

Then Addi got it (and still has it)…She has 103.2 fevers and the same terrible cough.

198

Then yesterday Cooper started coughing. It is heartbreaking to see his little body struggle to cough. So sad… Thankfully he hasn’t got the fevers het. I am praying that he doesn’t. Does anyone know if there is ANYTHING I can give him (almost 4 months) for his cough??? If so please leave me a comment.

153

He has been a trooper though, and still pretty happy.

I am feeling yuck as well. Terrible sore throat, and ear aches. I haven’t started coughing yet.

I WANT WHAT WE CAUGHT TO GO AWAY…Hopefully soon, I will pray it passes you by! Good Luck

Lucky

The kids and I were in my bedroom today. I was changing the sheets on my bed, and putting laundry away... just doing all of the things that have to be done on a daily basis.  All of a sudden Addi stopped what she was doing and looked at this…

064

Then she said… and I quote…

 “MOM, Dad LOVES YOU.”

It instantly brought tears to my eyes. How lucky am I to have a 2 year old point that out to me today. That Jason does love me. I think I am one lucky girl to have the kind of love I have in my life.

Today has been a day of emotion for me. Lots of tears, Lots of thoughts… BECAUSE I read this…

and this…

and this.

I would suggest reading this IF…

(this is some of what I feel)

You want a completely renewed sense of appreciation for your husband and the days that you have together.

Being able to say “I love you” and hear “I love you” back.

Remembering the utter importance of a temple marriage, and appreciating what it means to have an ETERNITY with the people that you love the very most.

A goodnight kiss not matter how small or big it is that night-I still get a goodnight kiss.

A good fight…I know I sound crazy… who appreciated a good fight, But I decided I do, because that means my husband is still in my life. I realized that I would rather fight everyday with Jason, then spend a day knowing I couldn’t.

Gratitude for Today…I have today with my husband and my kids. I have today to show them how much I love and appreciate them. I have today to make them feel special and loved. I have TODAY with them…

That in any given moment my world and my heart could turn upside down.

That the screaming I here from the kids every day (that I allow to get to me) is wonderful…for it means that they don’t have tubes down their throats helping them to breath. Fighting for every breath…clinging on to their fragile little life.

Remembering the amazing promise that a Priesthood Blessing can have, and appreciating that my husband is worthy to perform such an amazing ordinance.

That I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That I have the strait and narrow path to help guide me through this life. That I have the faith to know that when I am at my wits end, that I can get down on my knees and know that my pleading for “something” is heard.

That “leftovers” are not what I want to give anymore to the people I love more then life itself.  (Reading another woman's words that couldn’t describe the feelings of my heart better then they do.)

To appreciate that TODAY I have the opportunity to “hug your babies a little tighter…Give your children a little extra squeeze…Be a little more patient and diligent and a little less distracted by the things that will wait until later. Embrace the things that matter most!”

NOW…my biggest struggle is to remember the emotions I have felt today when I have 4 laundry baskets in the front room that need folded and Bridger says “Do you want to play with me.” I need to say “ABSOLUTELY BUDDY” and drop everything to make him feel special and love.

When I am standing at the kitchen sink  full of dishes and Addi wants me to eat the greatest “plastic” dinner ever. I need to stop and take the 30 seconds it would take to make her feel important and proud of herself for her accomplishments.

When Bridger says “Cooper is asleep, do you want to…(whatever it is at that moment) WITH ME?” Tell him or rather show him I would rather spend time with him then do anything else!

Or when Coop won’t let me put him down, and he is so tired that he just cries. I need to love that he loves me so much. Remember I bring him comfort, and make him feel at peace.

When I trip over the millions of toys strung from one end of the house to the other. Remind myself that TODAY I still have my little ones to make messes.

When Jason gets home from work and I am “finished” I need to try and find a little more in me to not just give him what is left of myself.

When… I could go on and on and on with the little things that happen on a day to day basis that I need to work on. But it all boils down to one thing for me… FINDING GRATITUE IN TODAY…all the little things that make me so LUCKY.

Honestly I don’t know how to juggle it all…I just don’t…I really don’t,  but I promised myself today that I would try my best to make my kids feel special. To let them and Jason know that they are the most important things in my life. To let my husband know how much I love him, and to put the most important people in my live above the little things that will wait until tomorrow!!! I would hate to have something tragic in my life have to happen to make me open my eyes to where my priorities are! So Heavenly Father I am pleading with you to help me!!! Help me DO IT ALL, because I know that I can’t do it without your help.

3 more bites…

In a form of bribery, I told Bridge and Addi that if they ate all of their dinner that they could have and ice cream for dessert. Bridge is usually the very last to eat his dinner. He procrastinates so bad. Literally he will be at the counter for an hour longer then the rest of us. No wonder he is so skinny…he eats so slow! Well tonight he was the first done. SO…he got his ice cream bar, and guess who had 3 more bites…

020

She was very sad, and especially angry with me that she couldn’t have her ice cream yet!

030 032

Look Mom, ALL DONE!!!

035

NOW THERE IS ONE HAPPY LITTLE CAMPER!!! Ice Cream in hand!

backwards…

056 057

I had to laugh at Bridge the other night before bed. I told him to go get some pj’s on. After a few minuets I heard some huffing and puffing…this is why! He was all backwards, and couldn't get out of it.  If you can’t tell, he has the wrong leg in each hole. Before I got the camera out, he had the arms all twisted as well…definitely worthy of a good laugh!

“That was fun”

On Christmas morning when the kids got the Snow machine, Addi said “I no like it,” and she has suck with not wanting anything to do with it until today (2-22-10).

050

Jason trying to convince Addisyn to just give it a try.

047

Bridge making sure she still wanted to ride? I think he wanted her off to be honest!!!

When she got off she said “That was fun…” It made me smile. She just said it over and over again!

Go COLTS!!!

026

Last Saturday we went over to Jackson to watch Makayla play basketball. She is a great little athlete! It was fun to watch her and have the kids routing for her! I can’t believe how much she has grown up in the last year or so. I just love her so much! Way to go Mak…even if you did lose that game!!!

SUNSHINE

I had to run to the store and grab a few things for Jason yesterday and when we got out of the car Addi said,

“ The SUN is getting me.”

Isn’t it just so nice!!! It was such a beautiful day!

My SUNDAY Reality…

My mom posted a few days ago…asking if we sugar coat our so called blog journals, or do we take the risk of not looking perfect and tell it as it is? Well, this was my reality Sunday…

Church isn't until 1, so I have more then enough time to get ready and get out the door….at least you would think that! Its 12:30-and Coop decides to poop, and of course it has to be a blow-out, the 2nd of the day! Hurry and change him. Try and get everyone in the car…including Jas, who about 12:00 decided that his stomach didn’t feel that great. We pulled into the parking lot, and Jason just dropped me and the kids off…and had to go get some medicine. He really wasn’t feeling well. So the kids and I found a bench and waited… Coop was getting really tired. When he gets tired, he gets mad…so he started crying. Then he was ticked off...okay, let me be real, He was PISSED OFF.  Just when I was going to walk out, Jason walks in…pheww! Now, I don’t have to take all 3 out, because I know if I Bridge and Addi wouldn’t be happy at all.  For 20min Coop cried and cried and cried. Finally I got him settled down. Walk in and just sat down, and Addi says “I want to go potty mom”…of course, so I hand Coop off to Jason just praying that he doesn’t wake up. Get Addi…and of course Bridger had to go to, so the 3 of us walk out again…and then walk back in and find our seats!  Jason is seriously looking green right about now. Sacrament is half way over at this point…all I have got out of Church today is FRUSTRATED!!!  Bridger and Addi are usually very good during sacrament…NOT TODAY!!! They are noisy, whinny and irritating.  Every 5 seconds you hear some kid, or adult coughing…or sniffing there noses. Oh, Great…hopefully we don’t get it! Finally it is the closing song…Coop wakes back up and is still ticked off. He is going to want to eat in about 30min…I look at Jason and CALL IT QUITS!!! We leave right after sacrament. I know what your thinking…so was I. When we are leaving Bridge says “I just don’t know why we aren’t going to our class today…” I didn’t even answer him. Cooper screamed the whole way home. Addi stared crying when we walked through the door, and Bridge just started with the whole “What are we going to do today, this is boring” bit…Jas headed strait for the bathroom, and I wanted to sit in the middle of the floor and throw a temper tantrum too!!! BUT, I keep it together and counted to 100…not 10!!! The rest of the day didn’t get much better. I couldn’t lay Cooper down all day long. Don’t get me long, I love, love, love to snuggle him…but I was starting to feel really confined.  I was irritated, and Jason was trying to do his best to put up with me…but finally he broke, so we went at it…

Really, I could go on and on…but that was the reality of my Sabbath Day! Not exactly what it is suppose to be like. When I said my prayers before I went to be, I thanked my Heavenly Father for letting me get through the day! I woke up Monday morning, and started it all over again…

I got this email the other day. I got a kick out of it, and thought you would to… Comments made in the year 1955!

                             That's only 54 years ago!

"Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before

$1,000.00 will only buy a used one."

"If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. 20 cents a pack is ridiculous."

"Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter?"

"If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store."

"When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon.  Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage."

"I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND, it seems every new movie has either HELL or DAMN in it."

"I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century.  They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas ."

"Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball?  It  wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President."

"I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric...  They are even making electric typewriters now."

"It's too bad things are so tough nowadays.  I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet."

"It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work."

"I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business."

"Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes.  I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government."

"The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on."

"There is no sense going on short trips anymore for a weekend, it costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel."

"No one can afford to be sick anymore, at $15.00 a day in the hospital, it's too rich for my blood."

"If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a haircut, forget it."
