A little accident

The end of August the kids were out riding bikes, and Cooper had himself a little accident…

The kids came running in the house saying “Cooper is bleeding all over!” Immediately my heart sank to my toes. You just never know what to expect when you hear something like that from the older kids.

Well, I went running outside, and just as they said Poor Coop was bleeding all over…

He was riding on the ramp, and fell, and must of landed directly on a sharp rock.

I cleaned him up the best I could, and made the decision that it would need stitched. It wasn’t very big, but pretty deep. So off to community care we went. one look and they confirmed my question of stitches!

I asked the nurse if I could have a sucker for him to eat while they were stitching him up! We all laughed when he didn’t make a peep, or move while they were stitching him up.

It took 2 suckers, but the kid didn’t move the whole time. He didn’t flinch, talk, cry, wiggle or anything! No one could believe it. I was laughing the whole time. Love this kid!!!

3 whole stitches later it was time to head home with this brave little guy!!!

Cooper turns 3

November 28, 2012

I can not believe that my “baby” is 3. I really can’t. I have very mixed emotions about it, but that is for another post all together!

For weeks I asked Coop what he wanted to do for his 3rd Birthday, and every time I asked he said “wimming.” So we made plans to go Swimming the Saturday following his Birthday!

But on the night of his Birthday we had a little celebration as well. There were a few people that weren’t going to be able to make it swimming, so we decided to do pizza and cake. Pizza was his request!

After dinner it was time for cake. I made a giant Samoa girl scout cookie.

I am so thankful for My parents for coming and for Grandpa Gary for being a part of his Birthday! It touches my heart in a way you will never know!

Love you all so much.

Happy Birthday Cooper

It is “TIME” to come back

Christopher made it back this year. The kids were so excited when they saw him hanging out on the clock! I love the magic that he brings into our home.

It will be fun to see what he get’s into this year!

Glad to have you back Christopher!!!

Comfort

Love this picture! I think Halley took it! Just think it is cute.  Sometimes it just doesn’t take much to comfort this little guy.

Cindy Loo Who

Addi has the greatest little Kindergarten teacher. I just love her. They were having a Grinch day at school.  They were suppose to dress up like little Who’s. Addi let me do this to her…

Oh They looked adorable!

She was so excited and just loved the way it turned out. She had a very fun day being Cindy Loo Who!!!

Love you Addi!!!

Deck the Halls…

Christmas is my favorite time of year. Really the only Holiday I decorate for. If I were rich, my house would be amazing all year long. BUT, I couldn’t wait any longer. Thanksgiving was only a few days away, so we decided one night to put up the tree… I turned on a little Pandora George Strait Christmas to get us in the spirit and we started!!!

The kids were a great help for a little while! Then it was more of a pain in the A** because it wasn’t going fast enough for them. I was starting to loose my Christmas spirit, and was wishing I had waiting until the kids had gone to bed. I could have blamed it on the Elf, and they would have been elated! But… I wanted to do it together as a family {what was I thinking}!!!

But soon they could put decorations on, and it was all smiles again.

Even if it did require a little tweaking after they were nestled into bed…

{So adorable though}

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

I love having a banister and the hearth to decorate! It is so fun and pretty. It adds a beautiful touch to my house!

After the kids were asleep I think I sat in the room by the glow of the lights for an hours. Just in peace and quiet. I just love it!!!

Just Kidding…

November 16, 2012

Jason and I got Mallard our Lab 12 years ago. She has always been a part of our family! We got her a few months after we were married. Both her and Ruger. We use to take them everywhere. It was a very Sad day when we had to put Ruger down.  We knew that it was only a matter of time before we would be doing the same thing with Mallard. Seriously just breaks my heart! We have just been watching her. There are things that just break our heart. Like the other day when she was trying to climb on the deck and got stuck with her front paws up and her back ones on the ground {it is about a foot off the ground}. Just sad. I always told Jas that as soon as she didn’t wag her tail when she saw me it was time.

Well, she got into a fight with the neighbor dog or something. I didn’t see, so can’t really know, but she had a huge open wound in her shoulder, and a few puncture wounds. So I babied her. I let her come into the house, and she slept in the garage.

I watched her and watched her.  For 2 days the poor ole’ girl didn’t lift up her head. She hardly moved. We ate dinner and she didn’t come and beg for any. I threw her pieces just inches away from her face, and she wouldn’t move to get them. I was heartbroken.

I called Jason and told him that I though it might be time. I am so attached to this dog, I could barely spit it out. So when he got home late that night we went back and forth.  The next morning we decided that she was really hurting. There was no improvement. It was just sad.

We all said our goodbyes. We talked to the kids. We cried

We loaded up {the kids really wanted to go} and headed to Rexburg. We went to the Vet, and left Mallard there after saying our final goodbyes.

We went to Britts {Gary told us we could bury her there in the pasture} and dug a hole in the best spot we could find. Just as we were leaving to head back to the Vet my phone rings. It is the Vet, and he says “This dog is up walking around, and looks like she is doing pretty well.” I was flabbergasted! I handed the phone to Jas and let him talk to him. We left the kids with Britt and went back to the clinic. There Mallard was sitting up, and walked over to greet us when we walked in!

So after getting some arthritis meds, and an antibiotic for her wound, we loaded her back up in the car and took her home! Seriously, I was so irritated with her. She was a completely different dog. I guess she just decided it was not her time yet! Either that or she was completely playing me! Either way, I am glad to still have her for a little bit longer!!!

Long Overdue

On our way home from Holly and Brian’s we made a detour to Evanston. It has been years since I have been there. It makes me SAD to admit that! My Grandparents live there. It is where my mom was raised. I have missed Evanston, and really missed them.

DSC_0988

We were only there for a few hours, but they were wonderful hours. It was so nice to talk, and catch up with them. I am so lucky to have them in my life. I don’t know why I haven’t been there more often. BUT, I will be making that change. They are amazing people, and I am lucky to have them in my life. I want the same for my kiddos.

I loved looking at all of these picture collages on the wall, and catch up on my family I haven’t seen in ages.

They have done a lot of remodeling since I have been there, but it was still every bit as wonderful as it use to be. I have a lot of memories inside the walls of that home. I even got a bit emotional just being there again. I know it is so sad to feel that way because I haven’t taken the time to be there. It actually completely disgusts me. It is so sad.

They use to have a little Yorkie named Poky. Oh my Grandpa’s eyes light up when he saw little Paige. It was adorable.

But, he was elated to see the kids. They both were.

and then also money bags… {they have a jar of change, and let the grandkids have a handful. What they can hold is theirs. So cute to have been a part of that little tradition}

DSC_0978

I just love this picture.

DSC_0987

Love them so much. I love the example they are. I love that no matter how often I see them, that I know they are always in my heart, and I theirs.  It was such a wonderful visit. Hopefully the next one isn’t a few years away!
